There are many women artists who had successful art careers but were overshadowed by their other halves. This talk with Melanie will look at a selection of those artists and discuss their work and their sometimes tumultuous relationships with their husbands or lovers. The talk will include artists such as Lee Krasner (married Jackson Pollock), Ana Mendieta (married Carl Andre), Celia Paul (lover of Lucian Freud), and Winifred Nicholson (married Ben Nicholson).
