20th and 21st Century Italian Art
During this series of art talks, speakers Melanie Paice and Peter Scott will explore the meaning behind art and national identity. Melanie is an artist, art tutor and lecturer. Peter Scott has been a guide and lecturer at Tate Britain and Tate Modern for 15 years.
Italian artists of the 20th Century sought to break free of their artistic heritage and to provoke and challenge notions of what art should be. Italian artists including Modigliani, Morandi and the “Arte Povera” group will be covered.
