Art and the Gothic Novel in the Age of Romanticism
Even after 250 years, novels such as Frankenstein, Dracula and The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde still captivate and unnerve us. This one-day course will explore how a combination of Romanticism in art history and the gothic novel create this dark mood. Paintings by John Martin, William Blake, JWM Turner and Henry Fuseli will feature.
