Karl Jenkins
The Armed Man
Epworth Choir will be performing The Armed Man by Sir Karl Jenkins at its next concert on 21st March at 7.30pm at Holy Trinity Church Guildford .
Epworth Choir was established over 60 years ago and has established a reputation as one of Surrey's finest amateur choirs.
The Armed Man was written for the Royal Armouries Museum for the millennial celebrations and was dedicated to the victims of the Kosovo crisis. The dramatic and poignant mass has become Jenkins's most performed work. Classic FM describes Sir Karl as 'a phenomenon in contemporary music' and The Armed Man as ' the nation's favourite piece of contemporary music'.
We will be raising money at the concert for The York Road Project, which is our chosen charity for our current season. The York Road Project is a local charity providing accommodation and support for anyone experiencing homelessness in Woking and the surrounding areas.
Tickets are £20/£15 for adults and £5 for children under 12 and full time students and can be purchased at www.epworthchoir.org
