Barbers Gallery is delighted to announce it will be hosting the first major exhibition since 2000 by one of Surrey’s most celebrated impressionist artists and Woking resident – Annemarie Nijeboer – in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK. The exhibition will run from Monday 20th November to Saturday 2nd December, 2017. Over 40 of Annemarie’s works will be exhibited ranging from pastoral Surrey scenes around the Wey, her moody and eclectic take of Morocco, city scenes of London, Venice and her recognised Horse Racing and Polo work.
Born in Delft, the Netherlands, Annemarie Nijeboer’s painting career has been truly international with extended stays in Australia, Sudan, Venezuela, Argentina and Switzerland before moving to Surrey.
She started to concentrate on impressionistic oil paintings in the 1980’s in Buenos Aires. Her first solo exhibition in the historical Museo Peyrredon in Buenos Aires became an instant success with excellent reviews in the Argentinian national press. In 2000 Annemarie held a major and very well reviewed exhibition of some 50 paintings in the Guildford House Gallery.
Annemarie has continued painting animals and portraits in her unique and dramatic style. She is inspired by the English landscape, especially Surrey with its rivers and canals. Now back for her first exhibition of new work since 2000, please come and see the latest work by this rare talent, and see examples of her repertoire at www.barbersframing.co.uk and www.annemarienijeboer.com.
Stuart Herring of Barbers said ‘Annemarie is a true talent and one of the most striking and original artists we have worked with. We look forward to welcoming her to Barbers’
