Come to our drop-in recruitment afternoon to learn about employment opportunities with Surrey Adult Learning.
Qualifications: Applicants are usually required to have a qualification in their subject and either hold or be working towards a teaching qualification. We can advise on suitable qualifications and how to achieve them.
Tutor salary: Our current rate of pay ranges between £20.24 - £24.28 per hour, plus 14% or 16% annual leave entitlement dependent on the length of service with Surrey County Council.
Vacancies: We are currently recruiting for:
- English and Maths (up to GCSE level, including ESOL or EFL).
- Arts & Crafts – Upholstery, Tailoring, Sculpture, Pottery, Mount Cutting and Picture Framing.
- Computing – Web Design, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
- Languages - German, French, Spanish, Greek, Japanese, Italian, Mandarin.
- Dance and Exercise - General exercise, Yoga, Pilates, Ballroom Dance, Herbal Medicine.
- General Studies - Bridge, Lipreading, Mindfulness, Meditation.
- Cookery - all types.
- Family Learning - Early Years, Wellbeing (East Surrey) daytime courses.
- Outreach - Outreach courses in the community. A wide range of subjects available.
- Supported Learning - courses for adults with learning disabilities in the following subjects/areas: English & Maths, Arts & Crafts, Performing Arts/Theatre Studies, IT/Media, Exploring the local community, Advocacy Skills, Preparation for Volunteering, Independent Living Skills.
- Passport to Wellbeing - working with learners recovering from mild to moderate mental health issues.
- Apprenticeships - Trainer and Assessor for Business Administration and Customer Service.
- Other opportunities - we would also like to hear from you if you are interested in becoming a Supported Learning Assistant (paid) or volunteer (unpaid).
