Editor Emily's hello – The Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead Magazine, March 2016
It was only last June that I joined the TOGS – ‘Terry’s Old Geezers and Gals’ – for An Evening with Terry Wogan at Guildford’s G Live. There, the master of the mic led us gently through his stellar career. One highlight for him was the fact that Children in Need, which he presented for 26 years, has raised more than £700m since 1980.
As I noted on the night, Sir Terry made everything he did look so effortless. Yet he was at great pains to serve his nation and – as you will learn in our tribute – his family and community. This he did until the very end, possibly to his own detriment. His departure marks the end of an era. Sir Terry, we thank you for your service.
