Peter Andre's sister-in-law applies to be on Surrey HIlls
Peter Andre's future sister-in-law is the latest applicant to release a video audition for Surrey's new reality television programme
Sunny Nerisan – who is engaged to the Peter’s brother Danny attended the Surrey Hills open casting in July with her fiance.
In the video, Sunny says she is not “your typical Surrey girl - I have a job, I don’t live off mum and dad, never have done, never will.”
The show has been billed as Surrey’s answer to Made in Chelsea, raising concerns as to how the county will be portrayed.
“This makes me feel ashamed to be from Surrey,” wrote Jonathan in reaction to the audition videos. And Suzanne from Esher goes further.
“No thank you!” she declares. “If The Only Way is Essex is anything to go by, the programme will give people the impression that Surrey's youngsters are spoilt, sex-hungry buffoons.”
Mayor of Elmbridge, Mike Bennison, and George Whalley, general manager of St George’s Hill Estate, declined to comment. However, The Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty board has openly criticised the show – not least on account of its title. For the places on which the programme is focusing – Weybridge, Cobham, Esher – are not strictly in the Surrey Hills. The title – an obvious nod towards Beverly Hills and St George’s Hill – is misleading.
“Far from the world of fast cars, gated developments and jacuzzis, which the programme producers aim to depict, the AONB offers picture-postcard villages, bustling market towns and breathtaking views that have inspired writers, designers, composers and artists, such as Jane Austen, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Vaughan Williams,” said a Surrey Hills AONB spokesperson.
Producers of the television show are reportedly still looking for future stars and people can apply to be on the show via the website.
A pilot Surrey Hills episode is set be filmed at the end of August, followed by an announcement of which broadcaster will air the programme.
