A horseradish sauce described by its Goldalming-based creator as “so hot it makes your eyes water” has won a gold medal at the prestigious 2013 Great Taste Awards
Le Mesurier Hot Horseradish Sauce scooped the two-star gold award after undergoing rigorous taste tests by a panel of experts.
“I’m delighted to have this traditional British sauce recognised by the Great Taste Awards,” says chef Patrick Le Mesurier, MD of Le Mesurier’s Limited. “The awards are recognised as the Oscars of the fine food industry, and being selected for two star gold is a great achievement. I developed the recipe for Hot Horseradish for people who like their sauce to have a real kick. It’s perfect with roast beef and smoked fish and is very popular. Seems the judges agree, which is fantastic to know.”
