British Pie Week is March 7-13! Download some great pie recipes and get involved with the White Brasserie 'Pie in the Sky' competition
It is a universally acknowledged truth; putting something in a pie just makes it better. Jus-Rol's British Pie Week, running from March 7-13, is a celebration of this classic British dish. You can download great pie recipes on their website – ranging from ox-cheek to apple and stilton.
Closer to home, The White Brasserie has a wonderful pie making competition – Pie in the Sky – running throughout the whole week. If you've ever fantasised about creating a pie with a brandy-snap lid or replacing beef with alligator meat, this is the competition for you.
Come up with your best idea – no specific recipe is needed – and submit it at a local White Brasserie pub on one of their entry cards, by emailing pieinthesky@whitebrasserie.com, or through Twitter on the #WBCPieWeek hashtag.
Local White Brasserie pubs include The Queens Head in Weybridge, The March Hare in Guildford and The Sun Inn in Chobham. Entries will be judged by Mark Woore and Clive Fretwell, The White Brasserie's area and executive chefs. Three lucky winners will receive a £100 voucher and have their pie included on a specials board during The White Brasserie's Festival of Flavour from April 11-17.
