During his lifetime, W H Allen, artist and headmaster of Farnham Art School, travelled widely to the continent, especially to Italy, Switzerland and Northern France. His works from these journeys range from carefully precise studies of architectural features in Italy, to vivid depictions of continental life across the continent.
