Sunset Over Florence, by Davey Leo
The Guildford House Gallery, 7 December 2013 – 4 January 2014
Celebrating the versatility and splendor of watercolour as a medium, The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition celebrates all works produced using water-based paints, whether abstract or figurative, contemporary or traditional.
800 submissions have been whittled down to 83 works by a group of prestigious art selectors that included the Surveyor of the Queen’s Pictures Desmond Shawe-Taylor CVO and the Assistant Editor of Culture at The Sunday Times, Louis Wise. The selected paintings will be exhibited for four months at different locations throughout London, including for the first time ever the Guildford House Gallery.
The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition is the largest and most prestigious watercolour competition in the UK, and the artist who wins first prize will receive £10, 000.
Admission to the Guildford House Gallery will be free, so don’t miss your chance to have a look at all the finalists’ wonderful works. Guided tours are scheduled for every Wednesday at 11am.
